Patio & Outdoor Living Renovation

Decking, outdoor kitchens, pergolas, and full backyard renovations designed around an existing or new pool.

A pool is one piece of the backyard. Patio and outdoor-living renovation covers the decking, shade structures, outdoor kitchens, fire features, and landscaping that turn a pool into a finished outdoor living space.

This also covers renovating around an existing pool: re-decking worn or cracked concrete, adding a pergola or cabana, extending a patio, or reworking drainage and grading so water moves away from the house and foundation the way it should.

Outdoor living work is scoped and built alongside the pool project under the same single point of contact, so decking, drainage, and pool construction are coordinated rather than handed off between separate contractors.

With Gulf Coast humidity and long pool seasons, algae pressure is higher here than in drier climates, so a consistent chemical balance and a filter sized correctly for the pool volume matter more than they would farther north.

Where This Fits in Our Process

Patio and outdoor-living work is scoped during design alongside (or independent of) a pool project, so decking, drainage, and any pool construction are coordinated rather than sequenced by separate contractors later. See Our Process for the full four-phase build.

What to Bring to Your Consultation

Having a rough sense of budget range, a priority list of must-have features, and photos of the current yard (if there's an existing pool or structure involved) makes the first site visit more productive. Nothing needs to be finalized before then, that's what the Design & Planning step is for, but the more specific the starting point, the faster a workable design comes together.

Serving Houston, Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Cypress, Pearland, Memorial, Kingwood

This site is dedicated to a single build method: gunite (shotcrete) construction, rebar cage, sprayed and hand-finished concrete, engineered bond beams, and a design that can be shaped to anything the lot allows, from tanning ledges to negative edges to integrated spas.

FAQs

What types of pools do you build?

We build custom gunite (concrete) pools and fiberglass pools, plus patio and outdoor-living renovations and repair/resurfacing work on existing pools. Gunite is fully custom-shaped and engineered for Texas clay soils; fiberglass installs faster with a lower-maintenance gel-coat finish.

Can the design be fully custom?

Gunite pools are fully custom: shape, depth, tanning ledges, raised spas, water features, and integration with decking or an outdoor kitchen are all designed around your lot. Fiberglass pools come in a set range of manufacturer shapes but still allow custom decking, lighting, and water-feature add-ons.
